panvigna3Around La Favilletta there are many things to do: starting from the apartments you can take some walks in the green paths bordered by vineyards and olive groves. It can be really nice to jog or just stroll around in the nature, meeting farmhouses, cypress trees, gardens, forests, until you get near the river Arno. One kilometer far from the house there is a small wine producer (Azienda Agricola Cerretello), the owner is called Alessandro Bianchi and, for sure, he will be happy to let you taste his products for a quick tasting. For the real experts, the best wine area is the one of Chianti Rufina. A few miles far from the house you can find the old wine road of Chianti Rufina and Pomino, in a "terroir" that is becoming more and more able to produce wines of great quality. Many producers are settled in this area: from  Selvapiana to Frascole, to the territory of Pomino, traditionally linked to the Frescobaldi family. Of course it's possible to visit the wine cellars (a reservation is often required).

In the area there are many restaurants that deserve a visit. In the close village of Rosano you find the Osteria da Mèlo, derives its name from the sicilian name of the cook: Carmelo. As you might guess, it offers Sicilian specialities based on a fish menu (although you can taste the famous Florentine steak and other Tuscan recipes). Excellent different kind of "pasta" and sometimes you can find the famous cous cous of Trapani. Rosano always mention the historical Bottega a Rosano. It 's traditional village shop where you can buy a bit' of everything. Excellent salami and cheeses and chess, for a snack lunch. Dinner is served from Thursday through Saturday, are basically offered traditional Tuscan specialties.

In Pontassieve we like to point out a couple of places: first, the Cantuccio, charming restaurant where the owners will take you on a tasting menu with seafood specialties. Very good also the new inn Toscani da sempre with a menu of Tuscan specialties and creative cuisine. The wines are those of the area, with excellent Chianti Rufina labels .

Among the attractions to be visited we mention the  Abbey of S. Maria di Rosano dating back to 780 d.c., receives an order of cloistered Benedictine, the Benedictines monks even founded, in the early 1000, the Abbey of Vallombrosa which is situated a few miles far from the house.
